Devotion

This morning my daughter asked if we could listen to track 7 and it be our prayer on the way to school. (This is the song... Audience of One by Bid Daddy Weave). In our busy morning of rushing to get to school on time, get the dog back inside and Wesley out of the dog treats, we had forgotten to pray on our way to school as we do every morning. Sometimes I would put a song on to praise with, but today in my busyness (is that a word?) I forgot. How insightful of my 7 yr old girl who has such a heart for God to remember and have us take time to stop for a minute and Praise God.

I was sitting in a hospital room a few months ago with Wesley (one of our many visits this year) around 4am and this song came on. I know God had me awake for a reason and as I was praying, my ears perked up as I listened to the words of this song. For days after this, bowing down to pray had been on my mind and I had excuse after excuse why not too. Finally, I listenend to him and WOW.

I can't really remember ever praying on my knees before as an adult. I had known of this all my life, but me personally had never gotton on my knees to pray on my own. Sure, my husband and I had in church at the alter and as a teen I did. For some reason as an adult I had gotten out of this practice.

What a difference it makes. I felt this rush all over me of emotions that I could not explain and to praise God in this way is such an honor. I feel that I do not give him the time he needs from me everyday and when I do not, my day is affected.
