Today is Devotion Friday, one of my favorite days of the week.
Many times the devotions are what is on my heart at the time. I love to share them with you.
I came across today's devotion from another FaceBooker (thank you Stephanie). As I was writing out what I wanted to say, I got side tracked (easy to do with me) and her post popped up. WOW such a God thing because someone had alreayd put into words what I was trying to say and so much more simpler. As I was reading it, it became so clear that we all do this time to time.
We get busy with our lives and I am the first to tell you that Busy is my middle name and you can tell in my life when I let my Faith become 2nd or 3rd in my day. My goal this week is to take even 10 min at some point of the day to meditate on Gods word. I may only get 5 min, but I have the desire to do so much more. At the end is my favorite song by Third Day as I am crying out to Jesus daily. Enjoy
Cannot Do This Alone
O God, early in the morning I cry to you.
Help me to pray
And to concentrate my thoughts on you:
I cannot do this alone.
In me there is darkness,
But with you there is light;
I am lonely, but you do not leave me;
I am feeble in heart, but with you there is help;
I am restless, but with you there is peace.
In me there is bitterness, but with you there is patience;
I do not understand your ways,
But you know the way for me…
Restore me to liberty,
And enable me to live now
That I may answer before you and before me.
Lord, whatever this day may bring,
Your name be praised.
