Wal-mart released the weekly sales ad on Sunday with this advertisement on it:
It states the Wal-mart will accept competitor coupons. Thousands of couponers around the world were chatting it up and it has been the talk on all the coupon boards/forums on the net.
I spoke with Wal-Mart Public Relations personally today and it was a mistake.
Bottom Line
::Wal-Mart Price Matches
::Wal-Mart will accept Manufacturer coupons
::Wal-Mart DOES NOT ACCEPT Competitor Coupons
I hope it helps in this maddening world of coupons!! :-)

Hi Tanya,
I saw your recent post. There have been some questions about Walmart’s coupon policy and I wanted to offer some additional details. To clarify, Walmart will continue to accept all valid manufacturer and print-at-home internet coupons with a scannable bar code. In addition, Walmart will also match the price listed on any valid competitor coupons that include a printed retail price for a specific item (e.g., $2 for a 24 oz. bottle of Clorox).
We apologize for any confusion.
For further details, please see our price match and coupon policies online:

Many thanks,

Thank you for that email. I greatly appreciate it.
In the ad it stated that you will accept all competitor coupons (e.g., Publix or Target). Is that not the case or was it a mistake?
Tanya,
Yes, we will accept any competitor coupons that include a printed retail price for a specific item.
Thanks,
R******

I am so sorry to ask another question but can you give me an example. It sounds like price matching.
If I were to present a Target coupon for $2.00 off 1 Pedigree dog food, Wal-Mart would honor this?
or if I were to buy (2) Clorox 35ct wipes and presented a Publix store coupon for $2.00 off any 2 Clorox..Wal-Mart would accept this?
No worries, Tanya – I’m happy to answer your questions.
We would not accept the example coupons below unless they had a specific price on it ($12.99), as we do not honor competitor’s dollar or cents off coupons. The competitor coupons we honor must have a printed retail price for a specific item.
Thanks,
R*******
