I have the new Coupon policy that goes into effect May 23, 2011. But the way it is written is very hard to read, but they are Crystal Clear on the policy and what they will accept and what they will not.
Just like other stores, you can expect revisions to this policy and remember each store has the right to interpret the policy as they want.
Each store will have a list posted in the front of the store on what stores they consider to be a competitor. Also you can check with the front service desk and they will give you the policy and list of competitor stores.
I encourage you to give the policy a chance especially in the beginning. We hope that the cashiers will be up to date on the policies by the time they are in place May 23. There are many reasons to shop Publix and Publix still offers many coupons and speacils avail to us. Check out all the ways you can still save HERE (Publix magazines, Baby/Preschool Club/Pet etc.
Publix Accepts:
- · Manufacturers' coupons (limit one per item),
- · Publix coupons (originals only - no copies)
- · Valid Internet coupons
- · Competitor coupons (Identified in each store)
- · We will accept Pharmacy prescriptions coupons from competitor pharmacies only
- · We will accept a Mfg Coupon + Publix or Competitor coupon on the same item
Publix DOES NOT Accept:
- · We will not accept percent-off-items or percent-off-total-order coupons.
- · We will not accept more than 1 Competitor coupon per order.
- Things to remember:
- · BOGO-each item is considered a separate sale (this is great news)
- · Each Store reserves the right to limit quantities
- · Manager approval will be needed for coupons over $5.00
- · We will only accept coupons for identical merchandise we sell. (this applies to Albertsons meat)
- · Dollars-off-total-order coupons will be limited to one Publix and one competitor coupon per order. The order total must be equal to or greater than the total purchase requirements indicated on the coupon(s) presented.
What does this mean to you?
- · It depends on where you live on how you will be affected
- · In Florida we do not double coupons, but all other states for Publix still do up to $0.50
- · The Competitor Policy is the biggest change I see. You can see that Target will not be accepted by all stores.
- · The rule of thumb is the competitor store needs to be with-in 10 miles. Most stores already do this
- · Make sure to get the list of competitor stores. It will be different at EACH store
- · Limits will be in place and different at EACH store
- · We will only be allowed to use (1) yellow/green advantage coupon on the same item. So, if you have been using 2-5 of the same items with the same Publix coupon you will NOT be able to do this. The same applies for Food Lion, Whole Foods, Harvey’s & Target store coupons
