My Quick Publix Trip

I needed to make a quick trip tonight to Publix to pick up my Chicken and Cheese. I only had a short amount of time to shop so no planning went into this trip except 2 main things:

I saw you at the Savannah Show. I have always thought that couponing was a bunch of trouble,and that it really wasn't worth it. But I'm here to tell you that after I saw you, and bought your organizer, that it has become an obsession with me. I am always looking to see what I can get free or almost free. I won't even let my husband do any of the shopping anymore because I am afraid he will buy something I have a coupon for. I have subscribed to the Sunday paper now and grabbing everything that might have a coupon in it. :)..I come home from work and cook dinner and get on the computer to see what deals I can find today..I search your site to see what deals I can find where. Its a White Christmas for us and first time seeing snow!

News said today that it was the first time since 1892 that GA had snow on Christmas day!!

That was some record. I am so excited that our kids were able to see snow for the first time. They had a blast making snow balls and playing soccer in the snow!

Needless to say no deal hunting today. I was all ready to go out to Target, Kohls and CVS for the after Christmas sales but the driveway and roads were iced over to much to go out.

Maybe we can make it out tomorrow.

Merry Christmas!!

I just wanted to take a minute to wish you a Merry Christmas! While we are all taking time to enjoy family and friends, don't forget to take a moment to tell them how much they mean to you and how much they are loved.

Personally I am so very thankful for my beautifully family here with me and extended. I came from an only child, single parent family to a huge family with my husbands family. I truly am blessed to be surrounded by such a wealth of wisdom and guidance in my journey as a women of faith and balancing a demanding business with family.

Also, all of the Coupon Queeny loyal fans and subscribers. CQ has grown this year from something I did out of my house to CQ, Inc. and bringing on a business partner in NC. I am blessed beyond belief to be able to share the deals and be a part of your daily life.

Sherwood, Kathy, Ed and Coupon Queen Amy are all behind the scenes people that work very hard to make Coupon Queeny, Inc a success and help me tremendously.

Today is also my 37 th birthday (12/25) and later today I will bring you a list of Birthday Freebies that you too can enjoy on your wonderful day. My precious 3 yr old has been singing Happy Birthday to me and Jesus all day. :-)

Christmas Travels

We are finally on our way to Atlanta for the holidays.
What are your plans this holiday season?

Marietta, GA is our home and looking forward to visiting family, having all the cousins over to play and relax a bit. My mom in law has already requested a coupon shopping trip to Kroger. I said sure go ahead and twist my arm to go shopping for pleasure :-)

All the cousins are the same age or with in a year of each other so they have a ton of fun together. We brought our Wii with us and Just Dance and Just Dance for kids and can't wait to watch 5 girls ages 10-4 dance to it.

Then Sunday will be a girls day to celebrate my birthday. It is actually Dec 25th but you can imagine how hard that is to celebrate on the day. LOL LOL My hubby has been teasing me all week that for the next 6mo I will be his old lady.

Have a wonderful safe Holiday whatever your plans are and I will be sure to still update daily and even more stores this next week.

Reader Poll: Traditions

Last night I was talking with a friend about Christmas Traditions (her kids make a nativity set each year) and thought it would be interesting to see what Christmas Traditions you have in your family and/or from when you were a child?

If you don't have any, this will give you a few ideas.

Here are mine:

• When my hubby and I were married I wanted us to have our own Christmas Traditions besides the #1 rule he had (No Birthday presents wrapped in Christmas paper, just 1 rule for this Christmas baby).

• Every Christmas Eve we read the Christmas story, have Hot Cocoa (yep even in FL), then open our Christmas PJ's. Everyone gets Christmas Pj's of some sort and we wear them to bed. Sometimes I may throw in a robe or slippers etc..

• Also, we make reindeer food and the kids make a plate of carrots (for the reindeer) and Coke & Cookies for Santa!

It is my favorite time of the year...Christmas time..Hubby says it is because my birthday is Christmas day, I say wrong it is just Christmas. Just today I pulled out my Christmas music today.

My favorite CD is Todd Agnew Christmas CD and Chris Tomlin/Third Day/Mercy Me..hmm I could go on and on. I just love Holiday music ..More than that, I love Christmas Ornaments!!!!

To me it is like unwrapping a memory with every Ornament. It takes me forever to decorate, because they need to be placed just right. I have many trees in my house this time a year. See for your self:

The Flu yuck-Strategies to overcome it

Yes, it is making its way thru many families all over right now. My family included
It seems to take 24 hours to make it thru to each of us. I caught it early Wed morning and my son Wed night. He and I were huddled up in my bedroom with trashcans beside each of us. Thank goodness my hubby was on the tale end of it and could care for us too. I wouldn't wish the tummy flu on anyone.

One of my readers suggested taking the old fashioned Lysol and mixing it 50/50 and wiping everything down in the house that someone touches..remotes, door knobs, telephones etc.. I seem to always forget about door knobs.

Here are more ideas on breaking the cycle:

• Wash all bedding/pillowcases/towels in hot water and bleach/Clorox 2
• Disinfect everything
• Air out the house...open windows for a while and let fresh air in
